Central User Administration
We have many users. We would like to avoid opening user accounts manually at multi-functional devices and the server.
The SafeQ user subsystem can use either an internal database and/or can be connected to other existing user resources (such as ActiveDirectory, NDS or LDAP). Thanks to its modularity and flexibility, a new user module may be programmed efficiently to enable a connection to any other user resource (either system or database).
Central User Administration with SafeQ
| simplified administration of the entire print environment |
Each user can be a member of only one or more groups and a single cost centre at the same time. The card identication (and PINs) are stored with every user as well as "aliases" - which are other logins for the same user in other systems. This allows the identification of users with different logins (e.g. in SAP users have firstname.lastname but in AD it is lastname.name) under one account.
When SafeQ connects to one of the AD, NDS or LDAP systems, a real online connection is established. All changes made on the level of these systems are recognised by SafeQ and take effect immediately.
This connection is the fundamental prerequisite for installations in larger environments and solves problems with the distribution of PIN accounts to multi-functional devices. A wide range of access rights may be assigned to each user: among others, but not all inclusive, the maximum number of pages per job to be limited for a specific queue and/or colour print and copying to be disallowed.
